Our Celtic Spiritual Heritage

OUR CELTIC SPIRITUAL HERITAGE

ITS BEAUTY AND DEPTHS OF BLESSING FOR MODERN HUMANITY

6 Sundays September 16th through October 21, after the 10am service (about 11:30-11:40 till 12:15-12:30 depending on how these times work for you. Rogers Hall. Please do bring friends and a lunch and something to take notes with if you want to. You are welcome to come to all or any of the sessions as you are able.

I especially hope you can come to the first 2 Sundays, when we will begin with the incredibly beautiful and fine video, A Celtic Pilgrimage with John O’Donohue .  It chronicles one of his many Spiritual Pilgrimage Journeys with visitors to County Clare in western Ireland, and he speaks eloquently of the deep connection of humanity to God through nature, place, prayer and community.

Irish native of County Clare, John O’Donohue was a Roman Catholic Priest, a philosopher, a poet and writer of spiritual books. His book, Anam Cara is well known and loved.  He died suddenly in 2008 and this brilliant, joyful and much -loved spiritual guide is missed by thousands of people around the world.

In the sessions following the video presentation,  I will talk about who are the Celts, some features of Celtic spirituality, Celtic saints and the impact our Celtic heritage has had on us and its great value for us today. Come and enjoy this class if you can.

Blessings,
